Jan grew up in Trenton, Michigan (a.k.a. Downriver). She and Bruce married in 1981 and shortly after, she accepted Jesus as her personal savior.

      Her schooling and working background was as a COBOL programmer where most of her programming career was for Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency. She took an eight year break from programming to raise three daughters who are now all married and serving the Lord. She also home schooled her daughters for a few years. Then returned to programming on a part time contract basis.

      She learned her office skills through college summer jobs as a secretary and working in the office and coaching at Michigan Academy of Gymnastics.

      Jan has been on several mission trips, some international and some in the U.S. She is an Ambassador for the Jesus Film Harvest Partners (J.F.H.P.) serving all of Michigan and Wisconsin as the Area Ambassador. She also serves as J.F.H.P. Ambassador and Zone Representative on her denominations council for the Eastern Michigan District.

      She has served her church as Sunday School teacher for both children and adults,  and Mission President.

      In her spare time she likes to paint using watercolor and colored pencil. Her work has been included in juried art shows and will soon be in Saline as part of the “Art Around Town” on an outside wall.

      Bruce and Jan live in Saline and are blessed with five (soon to be six) very active grandchildren.

      Jan’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” Which has helped her in many situations.
